Morgan is a scenic designer and mixed media artist based in Los Angeles. At Occidental College in Los Angeles, she studied both Economics and Theater where under the guidance of the head of scenic design, Susan Gratch, was encouraged to more fully pursue scenic design.
As a designer at Occidental she had the pleasure of designing Top Girls, directed by Angela Kang (writer and executive producer for The Walking Dead) as well as assisting Susan Gratch on Blood Wedding. She decided to pursue her MFA in scenic design from The University of California, Irvine where she received her degree in the spring of 2016.
Her work has been seen on shows such as Much Ado About Nothing at the New Swan Shakespeare Festival with director Beth Lopes, The Electra Project, Man of La Mancha, The Goodbye Girl, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Bus Riley’s Back in Town, and As You Like It at The University of California, Irvine. Morgan has also acted as an associate designer on shows such as Where Angels Fear to Tread with Michael Ganio at Opera San Jose and with Fred Kinney on Machinal at Long Beach Playhouse.
Morgan’s work stylistically pays attention to creating a strong sense of dynamic space but with clean contour and line. She was the recent recipient of the VectorWorks Design Scholarship Award 2015. Once she graduates this spring she hopes to pursue art direction and to continue a freelance design career within the theatrical world.
